Ethel Marion Hinerman Maki of Cascade, MT, passed on Sept 17, 2013, after a period of illness, from Scleroderma complications following knee surgery.She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Dean Maki who died shortly after birth, and Baby Maki who died before birth, her father and mother, William Ray and Anna Hinerman of Larslan, MT.She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lloyd Maki, her son Ken and his wife Sheila Clark of Leesburg, VA, 3 sisters, Norma Jean Hinerman and her husband Bruce Grossman of Seattle, WA, Ilene and her husband Jim Hanson of Whitefish, Alice Hinerman of Glasgow, 2 brothers, Sam Hinerman of Larslan, Ray Hinerman and his wife Lenore of Glasgow, her niece, LaMona Lee Hanson of Kalispell and her nephew Neal James Hinerman of Venice Beach, CA.Ethel attended Bozeman University of Montana where she received her degree in Nursing and worked in Hospitals in Great Falls as Supervisor and Special Nursing.Ethel was very proud of her son Ken Clark, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. He would send her flowers and Fruit of the Month, she would bake him cookies. She loved animals especially Jake their dog, Peaches her cat, and all birds.She fed and cared for every cat that showed up for dinner.She had bird feeders outside her kitchen and dining room windows.She loved to dress-up Jake and Lloyd for Halloween.Peaches loved to lie on her bed, and was great company especially while Ethel was ill. She loved to go to live plays and movies, and especially loved to travel, having visited Europe several times and many areas of the USA, always visiting the various museums and galleries to satisfy her quest to learn and to experience.She would visit her sister in Seattle to attend operas and the symphony for some culture. She loved music and books, had a great memory and was good at writing. She had a zest for life and adventure.Suffering from Scleroderma, she accepted her fate with grace and dignity.Dearest Mother, Wife, Sister, and Aunt you are gone too soon.We love you and will miss you always.Service will be held at 10:00AM Friday, 9/27 at the Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum Chapel, followed by a Reception for family and friends at Schnider Funeral Home, Great Falls.Instead of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation in memory of Ethel, to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, Maine 01923 or at www.scleroderma.org.Cards may be sent to Lloyd Maki at P.O.
