Esther Irene Allen

Esther Irene Allen, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Peace Hospice following her battle with Parkinson’s. Per Esther’s request, there will be no service and Schnider Funeral Home is handling the cremation. Esther was born in Lebanon, IL on August 10, 1932, to Marion and Ada (May) Catron. On May 1, 1952, Esther married Birdette Allen, and they had three children during their travels as a military family. They were stationed at Malmstrom AFB in 1968, and when they retired in 1976, they decided to call Great Falls their permanent home. Esther enjoyed gardening, and when she could no longer do that, she loved doing word and jigsaw puzzles in her spare time. She liked to hear how her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were doing in sports and school. She was preceded in death by her husband, Birdette; parents, Marion and Ada; brother, Marion “Bob”; two sisters, Cora and Iris; and her daughter-in-law, Diana. She is survived by her children, Brenda Schlough and Steven Allen both of Great Falls, and Deborah (Brian) Ogston of Buckeye, AZ; sister, Donna Baer of Lebanon, IL; grandchildren, whom she adored, Jeff (Michele) Ogston and Jason (Nely) Ogston of Rohnert Park, CA, David Allen of Great Falls, James Allen of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Stevie (Jeff) Spillers and Kayla Lewis both of Nevada, and Anthony Lewis of Billings, MT; great-grandchildren, Breanna Ogston, Devon Ogston, Sophia Beck, and Chloe Beck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
