Ellen Louise Swartz

Ellen Louise Swartz, 89, of Great Falls and formerly of Stockett, passed away Monday, October 31, 2017. Memorial service will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Ellen was born August 11, 1928 to Peter and Louise Steffani in Great Falls. She went to school at Betts County School and attended St. Mary’s High School until she had to move home and help with the family farm. She married Daniel Drazich in Long Beach, California on December 25, 1945 and had three children. They divorced in 1961. She married Albert Swartz on November 18, 1961 in Great Falls and moved to Stockett to the family farm where she took care of all the hay baling. Ellen was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She loved all animals and helped to care for all the family’s cows, cats, and dogs. She is survived by her husband, Albert of Great Falls; sons Warren (Nancy)Drazich of Stockett and Timothy (Marge) Drazich of Great Falls; daughter Barbara (Ed) Pepos of Great Falls; grandchildren Tamra Minor of Boise, Derek (Amanda) Young of Minnesota, Tyler (Emily) Drazich of Great Falls and David Drazich of Havre; and eight great-grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Anton Steffani; grandson Ryan Pepos; and great-granddaughter Jennifer Drazich.
