Elizabeth Honey OLeyar, 95, of Great Falls, passed away of natural causes Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Peace Hospice with family at her side.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Elizabeth or Honey as she was called was born in Great Falls, Montana on April 20, 1920. She was the fourth daughter, also the youngest in a loving German family. She grew up on the west side of Great Falls and many of her childhood friends were lifelong friends. She earned her nickname, Honey because of her sweet and loving ways. She attended schools in Great Falls and Simms, when her parents farmed there.In 1940, she married George OLeyar. They were married for 60 years. They had four children whom she adored.She was a great mother, who was a woman of character and dignity who passed those values onto her children. She was also a loving and devoted sister. Her career was her family. She truly lived for others.Honey was known for her delicious cooking, especially cabbage rolls and pierogi. She loved needlework and raising Tulips, Iris, and Mums.She was a loving, caring, and unselfish woman. She put others needs before her own. She was a caregiver to her husband, George for 14 years. Her sweet, gentle, and caring ways will be missed by all whose lives she touched.Honey was preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter Dawn Louks; sisters Lena Antonich, Rose MacCharles and Ursella Kaiser; and her parents, Christian and Katherine Kaiser.She is survived by her daughters, Maureen (Frank) Woirehaye and Deb (Mike) Ryan; son Kris (DeAnn) OLeyar; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.She will be in our hearts forever.
