Elizabeth Beth Ann Frampton-McDermand 51, of Great Falls, a self-employed child care provider, passed away unexpectedly at Benefis Health Care on Sunday, April 17th, 2016. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Center, 4700 10th Ave. South, with a luncheon to follow. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. Beth was born May 28, 1964 in Mansfield, Ohio to Mike and Suzanne (Rupp) Frampton. She and her family moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 1971, and that is where she attended school. In high school she participated in cross country ski racing. She also took interest in art and photography and was quite good at both. After high school she attended Colorado Institute of Art, studying photography, she graduated in 1984. She met Wes Workman while in Colorado and they were married. His military career led them all over the country and eventually to Great Falls, Montana.In 1986, Beth gave birth to a son, Nickolas. She and Wes were later divorced. In 1994, Beth met James McDermand and in 1995 they had a daughter, Hannah. James and Beth were married in 1998. The two of them had a 22 year long relationship, in spite of them being divorced upon her passing they were good friends, and still kept in close contact.Beth made a profession out of something she loved, working with children. She was a childcare provider for many years, falling in love with countless children whom she cared for out of her home. Beth had numerous passions in life and was accomplished at many things. She was voracious reader. The Nook was her favorite modern technology. She could sew, knit and crochet often making dolls, hats, booties, mittens for the children she cared for. She was self-taught at many things and always further educating herself. She was passionate about helping people. Numerous people remember her for her overwhelming generosity.She also was very passionate about helping those struggling with chemical dependency, as Beth herself, had become a Friend of Bill W. in 2003. She passed away with 13 years of sobriety. She was a lover of all animals advocating for their rights and spoiling those in her home. Noteworthy is the love AND appreciation Beth had for her Aunt Sheron,her mothers sister, they had a relationship unparalleled to any other. Her greatest love was her children, Hannah and Nick. She was very close to both of them and looked forward to watching their lives unfold into adulthood. Beth was a kind soul and was nice to all of those she encountered and she will be missed deeply.Beth is survived by her children; Nickolas Workman of Helena, MT and Hannah McDermand of Great Falls, MT; her life-time friend James McDermand of Great Falls; her mother, Suzanne Hartung of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; her two brothers, Steve Frampton of Warren, Maine and Eric Smith of Akron, Ohio; her aunt, Sheron Rupp of Haydenville, Massachusetts; as well as many other extended family members.She was preceded in death by her father Michael Frampton and her brother Sean Frampton.
