Eleanore Flood

Eleanore Ellie M. Flood, 81, of Great Falls, a retired Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration, died of natural causes on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at a local care facility.A rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with a funeral liturgy to follow at 11:00 a.m.Inurnment will immediately follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Eleanore was born on February 15, 1928 to Steve and Katarina Medvec in Tracy, Montana. She graduated from Centerville High School, Stockett-Sand Coulee in 1949. She worked for Suhr Motor Co in Great Falls before moving to Texas. Upon returning to Great Falls she worked as a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration retiring after 42 years.She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, past member of the Eagles and Elks organizations. She enjoyed gardening, taking pictures of her flower gardens, yard, and animals. She enjoyed travelling and was an accomplished bowler in her younger years.Eleanore is survived by a son Joseph P. Flood Jr. of Great Falls; daughter Gretchen (Bob) VanNatter of Tipton, IN; sister Julia Desy of Great Falls; grandchildren Jason VanNatter, Wendy Knotts, and Nicole Schreiner; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph P. Flood Sr. in 1987; by brothers Steve, Andy, and William Bill Medvec.
