Eleanor J. (Erickson) Charlson, 91, of Great Falls, a retired registered nurse and homemaker, died onFriday, September 14, 2012of natural causes at a local care facility.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church.Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Eleanor J. (Erickson) Charlson was born in Great Falls on July 8, 1921 to Roy and Carrie (Hippee) Erickson.She was raised at the Meadow Lark Dairy in Great Falls.She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1939.She then went on to the Deaconess School of Nursing and graduated with a bachelors degree in nursing in 1942.She married Dwight Charlson in 1942.They later divorced in 1970.Eleanor was a farm wife, homemaker and nurse.She was a lutefisk and lefse loving norski gal.She was a charter member of the Faith Lutheran Church, serving on the church council.She had also been a member of the Meadowlark Country Club.She served as a camp nurse for the Girls Scouts in Rochester, New York, and the Camp Fire Girls at Camp Rotary in Monarch.She was an avid collector of antiques specializing in individual salt dishes.Eleanor loved to travel and enjoyed crafting.Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Lynn Johnson and her husband, Darrell of Great Falls and Vicki Brunk and her husband, Lee of Puyallup, WA; son Jack W. Charlson and his fianc, Char Fabian of the Great Falls area; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters and one brother.Memorials can be made in Eleanors name to the Faith Lutheran Church, 3125 5th Ave. So., Great Falls, MT or a charity of the donors choice.Condolences may be left for the family at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
