Ed Naughten, 87, went to the Lord on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel with military honors being provided by the Marine Corps League. Ed was born April 3, 1931 in Helena, Montana, the son of Edward C. and Ruth Naughten.After graduating from Helena High School, he attended Carroll College.In 1951, he joined the Army Reserves which he served in for 33 years retiring as a Sergeant Major.Ed worked as a powerhouse operator at Hauser Dam out of Helena.In 1966, he went to work for the Montana Credit Union League in Helena, as a field representative.In 1968, Ed was transferred to Great Falls and then managed Montana Central Credit Union and later on MANG Credit Union.Later Ed became the credit manager for Famers Union Oil Company and later retired in 1993. Ed was united in marriage to the love of his life, Virginia “Ginny” Bailey at St Helena Cathedral in 1951 and on May 19 they would have celebrated 67 years of marriage. Ed was very involved in civic organizations, serving as past president for Toastmasters, Sunrise Lions Club and a board member for the Girl Scout Council.He sang with the Treasure Statesmen Barber Shop Chorus and Quartet.Ed had served as chairman and board member for Montana Federal Credit Union for decades. He leaves behind his wife “Ginny”, a daughter Kathy Lynn Naylor and her companion Dan Kline, two grandchildren; Candice (Tim) Elwood, Joel Kegel and a great granddaughter, Ariana Elwood and great grandson, Tyler Elwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Edward (Chip ) Naughten;great granddaughter Elizabeth Elwood, and a half-brother Hugh Naughten. Memorials may be given to the Great Falls Shrine Club, Travel Fund, PO Box 2361, Great Falls, Mt 59403 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital,262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN, 38105 or donor’s choice.
