Edward "Ed" Landes Jr.

Ed Landes Jr., 83, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018. Ed was born on July 10, 1934 in Watford City, ND to Edward F. and Hazel Landes. He worked at the US Post Office for 34 years and was promoted to manager of the CMR Post Office. He devoted much of his time to baseball as a coach, umpire, and president of Little League. Ed also refereed basketball at all levels. He was an announcer for both sports. He received many awards throughout his career both at the post office and in sports, and was an avid fisherman. Ed is survived by his wife of 64 years, Darlene Landes of Great Falls; three sons, Daniel Landes of Albuquerque, NM, Paul Landes of Anchorage, AK and Scott Landes of Seattle, WA; daughter Crystal Cubbage of Great Falls; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Victory Christian Church, 3220 11th Ave. S., Great Falls.
