Edward Ed Haag, 83, passed away peacefully on Dec 29, 2016 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.At Ed's request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Ed was born on March 11, 1933 in Mandan, North Dakota to Conrad and Margaret Haag. Being raised in Center, ND on the farm, he moved to Great Falls in '55, and worked at the Anaconda Company. From there Ed finished his working years as the head engineer at West Elementary School.He met Thelma Freidig 64 years ago. They have held hands together until the very end. This union produced 3 beautiful daughters.Ed loved woodworking at home, making numerous extremely intricate clocks and real wood pens. Ed and Thelma's passion was square dancing. Even at his 80th birthday party, they could really cut a rug with style.Ed is survived by his wife, Thelma of 62 years; daughters Debra Hanson of Florida, her children, Kim, Alan and Ryan, and Rita (Doug) Wesbty of California and their kids, Jenny and Jaimie; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces that are loved and enjoyed also.Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy in 2005; parents; and brothers Jake and John; and sisters Anna, Margie, and Irene.The family wants to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from the many friends and family who live all over.
