Earleen Berget Jacoby, 87, of Great Falls, a retired clerk and cook, died of an age related heath issue on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Missouri River Manor.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel.Cremation has taken place and burial of her ashes with her husband will be at the Monarch Cemetery.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Earleen was born on April 8, 1926 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Earl and Gertrude (Swick) Fladland.She attended a country school in Minnesota. Earleen married Jerome Jacoby in 1944 in Bird Island, Minnesota.She worked as a retail clerk for Paris of MT, owned the 5th Avenue North Grocery, and cooked in Monarch, MT and at the Boces School in Gillette, WY.She also was a file clerk at the College of Gillette in Wyoming.Earleen was active as a past chaplain of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Eagles Lodge, both in Gillette, WY.She enjoyed cooking, camping, RVing, and trips touring on buses.Earleen is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) Oja, of Great Falls; sisters Ardith Runck of Twin Valley, MN and Verdean Kirkhoven of Billings; granddaughter Cobie Oja of Phoenix, AZ; grandson John Jay (Juanita) Oja of Peoria, AZ; great-grandchildren Natasha (Matt) Adams of Casper, WY, Sheena Oja of Gillette, WY, and Chelsey Oja of Casper, WY; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Max.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome Jacoby in 1985; and brother Kermit Fladland in 2011.Memorials in Earleens name may be made to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405, or Faith Lutheran Church, 3125 5th Ave. S., Great Falls, MT59405, or Animal Foundation of Great Falls, PO Box 3426, Great Falls, MT 59403.Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
