Duane passed away peacefully Saturday, August 31 at Peace Hospice. No services are planned. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Duane Franklynn Johnson was born on January 19, 1933 to Frank Oscar Johnson and Florence Evelyn Anderson in Bismarck, North Dakota. Raised as an only child, Duane as a young man joined the Navy and fought in the Korean War. After leaving the Navy he married Mary Elizabeth Reisler and had four children, Kathleen, Kenneth (Tammy), Kelly (Candace), and Kerry (Sue). Duane and Mary have 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He worked as a self- employed contractor and was known as a master of all trades. Duane took much pride in his work and made sure each customer was treated special. Duane then retired in 1988 and moved to Neihart, fulfilling his dream of remodeling their home. He loved cutting wood for the winter and riding his ATV all around the mountainside. We miss you dearly and hope God has found you a forest of trees and enough snow to snowmobile through. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 59 years.
