Douglas Doug Paul Wilhelm, 61, of Great Falls, died on Monday, August 26, 2013.A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Doug was born on May 15, 1952 in Wolf Point, Montana to Paul Eugene Wilhelm and Mildred Beatrice (Brown) Wilhelm.He was raised and attended schools in Butte, Grantsdale and Hamilton.He worked as a master mechanic and transmission specialist for over 20 years in Choteau, Cut Bank, Glendive, Fairfield and various other small towns.Doug was also an instructor for hunter safety.Doug married Nancy Irene Hotchkiss on January 10, 1975.He enjoyed demolition derbies, hunting, fishing, waterskiing, boating, camping, and especially being outdoors and in the mountains.Doug could fix anything and loved to tinker with broken items and make them work again. At the time of his passing, he was working hard at the new property getting it ready for the new home.Doug is survived by his wife, Nancy Wilhelm of Great Falls; daughter Geneva Lynn (David) Winkowitsch of Cut Bank; sons Brian and Logan Wilhelm both of Great Falls; brother Pat (Tiffany) Hughes of Shelby; brothers-in law Duane (Janet) Hotchkiss of Peoria, IL and Karl (Kaylee) Kalista of East Helena; sisters in-law Linda DePee of Lake Las Vegas, NV and Karla (Alan) Lockhart of Owasso, OK: father-in-law Ed Kalista of Choteau; grandchildren Hunter and Kimber Winkowitsch of Cut Bank; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Wilhelm and step-mother Betty Grenz Wilhelm and mother Mildred Hughes and step-father Jack W.
