Dorothy Ann (Hoelzel) Williamson, 90, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died of natural causes on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at a local care facility.A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Dorothy was born May 1, 1922 to Carl and Elizabeth Hoelzel in Great Falls, MT.She was raised and educated in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High school.She married Shirley Edward Williamson on Christmas Eve, 1941 at St. Anns Cathedral in Great Falls, MT; he died January 3, 1997 after 56 years of marriage.Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge and taught many people the game over her 30 years of playing at the Great Falls Senior Citizens Center.In her life she also taught children how to bowl, enjoyed knitting and was an excellent seamstress, cook and baker.Survivors include her sons, G.C. Williamson, Terry L. (Lynn) Williamson, Bob S. (Vickie) Williamson all of Great Falls; daughters, Janet J. (Rick) Connell, Lynn A. Walls, Mary Beth Williamson all of Great Falls, a cousin Rev. Carl Trutter of Texas, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and her beloved Schnauzers Spencer and Baxter.She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister Bette Nash, a brother-in-law Bob Nash, and a grandson Jeff Williamson.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Great Falls Senior Citizens Center, 1004 Central Ave., Great Falls, MT 59401 or Peace Hospice of Montana, 110126th St. So., Great Falls, MT 59405Condolences may be left for the family at www.schniderfuneralhome.com and/or www.gftribune.com/obituaries.
