Doreen T. Houston

Doreen T. Houston, 89, of Great Falls, Montana, a retired bookkeeper passed away on June 6, 2015 of natural causes.A vigil service for friends and family will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Funeral service will be a private family affair. Burial will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Doreen was born on January 6, 1926 to Paul and Grace LaChambre in Tacoma, Washington. On March 8, 1945 she married Walter J. Houston in Missoula, Montana. They had five children: Dianne (Jay) Augustine, Paul (Kathy) Houston, Scot (Sandy) Houston, Lex (Steve) VanTighem, and Shawn (Regina) Houston.She was employed at St. Patricks Hospital in Missoula, St. Peters Hospital in Helena, Boeing Company, Malmstrom AFB and Credit Service Co. of the N.W. in Great Falls, until she retired in 1996.She enjoyed many hobbies including creative writing, genealogy, collecting dolls and teddy bears. Doreen loved the family vacations to Seeley and Swan Lake. There was never a holiday she did not celebrate to the fullest surrounded with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If ever there was a person who could bring joy and a love of life to any occasion, it was Doreen. She loved life, and she loved living it!She is survived by her children Dianne, Scot, Lex, and Shawn; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Grace LaChambre, her husband Walter J.; son Paul and sisters Elaine McGree and Joan Walker.
