Donna Marie Luraas, 86, of Great Falls, passed away on Aug. 30, 2021. Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at O’Connor Funeral Home on Thursday, September 2, 2021. A vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, with a funeral liturgy at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, both at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will take place at 3:30 p.m. also on Wednesday at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Donna was born on March 10, 1935, in Havre, MT to Ira E. and LaVern E. (Meyer) McFadden. Donna lived in Inverness, Gilford, and Harlem. She moved to Great Falls in 1942, where she attended Ursuline and St. Mary’s and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1953. On August 19, 1953, she married Sherman Luraas and they were married for 43 years until his death on April 2, 1997. The couple had eight children. She worked as a cocktail waitress at the Elks Lodge and other establishments for 15 years. She also taught dance for 12 years and worked for the Cascade County DMV for 10 years. Donna belonged to the Eagles Lodge and the BPO Does. She loved dancing, bowling, kids’ sports, her family, and her grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman D. Luraas; daughter, Ramona Luraas; parents, Ira and LaVern McFadden; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Minnie Luraas; sister, Doreen Palmer; and grandson, Ryan Pierce. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Greg) Foss, Vicky Luraas, Doreen (Don) Koehmstedt all of Great Falls, and Traci (Garry) Hergett of Park City, UT; sons, Todd (Jennielee) Luraas of Great Falls, Shane (Janice) Luraas of Las Vegas, NV, and Tari Luraas of Park City, UT; brothers, Duane and Dean McFadden; sisters, Deborah Preston and Dixie McFadden; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
