Donald Otto Schmidt, 77, of Great Falls, a retired railroader with the Great Northern Railroad, died of natural causes on Monday, December 17, 2012 at his home.No services are planned per the familys request. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Donald is survived by his wife Dorothy Schmidt of Great Falls; daughters Tammy Elliott of Lame Deer; Kathy Steffenson of Great Falls; sons Donnie Schmidt, Dewey Schmidt, and Thom Jones all of Great Falls; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
