Donald Lee Don Kranz, 62, of Great Falls, a construction worker, died of an apparent heart attack on Monday, August 20, 2012 at a local hospital.The family would like to greet friends and family at a visitation at Schnider Funeral Home from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012.A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with burial to follow the reception at Manchester Cemetery.Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Donald Lee Don Kranz was born on April 17, 1950 in Harbor Beach, Michigan to Irving Robert and Jacqueline Mae (Olszewski) Kranz.He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1969.On December 13, 1997, he married Wendi Ollendick in Great Falls. His work experience included the Anaconda Company, Georgia Pacific, Walsh Anderson, Phillips Construction and OLeary Construction. He also recently worked with his son and grandson at A to Z Masonry.One of his most favorite projects was the Poor Clares Monastery in Great Falls.He enjoyed his work so much, he referred to it as play.Don actively supported the Walleye Unlimited Childrens Fishing Program.He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan and collector of John Wayne memorabilia.He loved woodworking, camping, fishing and hunting.Donald is survived by his wife, Wendi Sue Kranz of Great Falls; his mother, Jacqueline Kranz of Great Falls; daughter Heidi (James) Kohls of Littlestown, PA; son Larry (Cindy) Stanley of Great Falls; sisters Patricia (Herb) Wyatt of Hampstead, MDand Mary (Cole) Hartl of Santa Ana, CA; brothers Jim (Susan) Kranz of Columbia Falls, and Roger (Julee) Kranz and Ken (Jeanette) Kranz both of Great Falls; six grandchildren, Megan, Madison and Logan Kohls and Megan, Levi and Lara Stanley; one great-grandchild and one on the way!He was preceded in death by his father, Irving Robert Kranz; and a brother, John Bernard Kranz.In lieu of flowers, donations in Donalds name can be made to the Great Falls Walleye Unlimited Childrens Fishing Derby, PO Box 937, Great Falls, MT59403.Condolences may be left for the family at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
