Donald R. Periman, 79 of Great Falls and formerly of Deer Lodge, a retired Electrician, was called home Thursday, August 8th, 2013.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Deer Lodge, Montana.A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Periman residence in Great Falls on 9th Street and 8th Ave N, Friday, August 16th from 4pm8pm.Don started his journey on Monday, Sept 18, 1933 at St. Joseph hospital in Deer Lodge, Montana, born to Arthur Ralph Periman and Montana Mary Girard. He served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. Don married the love of his life, Rose Marie McDonnell, on August 9, 1958 in Deer Lodge, Montana. He became a lifelong member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW, working for the Milwaukee Railroad. Don was a substation operator at several locations in Montana for the railroad and was very proud of his IBEW affiliation.Don started his second career at the Montana Power Company in 1974 in Great Falls, moving his family to Ryan Dam and later Rainbow Dam. He worked as a Hydro Electrician and retired in 1994. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing and spending many family vacations camping in Montana.Don is survived by his bride of 55 years, Rose Marie Periman of Great Falls; sons, Ken and Bob (Lora) Periman of Evanston, WY, Bill (Ann-Margaret) Periman of Great Falls; daughters, Anna Marie Baranko of Sun River and Tana Rose (Jim Nye) Periman of Great Falls; son-in-law John Baranko of Sun River; and a sister, Elsie Phillips of Deer Lodge.Don was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Ralph and Montana Mary Periman and brother-in-law, Fred Phillips.
