Dena Christopherson

Aldena Dena Holsti Christopherson, 87, of Great Falls, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 in her home surrounded by her children.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow at Schnider Funeral Home. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Dena was born to Elmer and Katie Schuchard on May 7, 1928 in Napoleon, North Dakota. She graduated from high school waiting for her future husband to return from WWII, after earning the Distinguished Service Cross. They started life together in Napoleon, moved to California with the Eddie Schuchard and Wally Haffner family. Ray and Dena and their three children later moved to Great Falls and resided in Riverview until their deaths. Dena later remarried and added an extended family.She was a thankful person, loving, fun, giving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and caring friend.She enjoyed life, gardening, crafts, her children, and was a fine seamstress.She is survived by her children, Robert (Susan) Holsti, Don Holsti and Ginger (Jay) Steciuk; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two nieces; five nephews; uncle LeRoy Schuchard; and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Llaird and Eddie; sister Loretta; and spouses.Dena was loved and will be missed forever.
