Deborah “Debbie” Christian Rauch, age 65, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, after a 7-year battle with cancer. Debbie was born in Charleston, South Carolina on May 30, 1956, into a Navy family. She was raised in Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, and Charleston, SC. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. She worked as a registered nurse at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls. In 1978, she married Frederick “Fred” R. Rauch II, and they were married for 43 years. They have three boys and eight grandchildren. Fred was in the Air Force and their first assignment was at Malmstrom AFB. Air Force assignments took them to Arizona, Virginia, Alabama, Colorado, and California. They moved 14 times. Debbie would say her furniture had more miles on it than her car. She loved teaching children about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Debbie was a children’s Sunday school teacher, an Awana leader, and a Bible Study Fellowship children’s leader. When Debbie became too sick to teach, she did a weekly devotional with her friends. Debbie had a big heart and a bigger smile. Her laugh was infectious. She got great enjoyment from reading to her grandchildren and dancing with them “like no one is watching.” While visiting with her grandchildren, she would always take many pictures. She made yearly photo albums and enjoyed sitting down with family to look at the photo albums. She is survived by her husband, Fred; sons, William (Amanda), Bradley (Katrina), and Brian (Kyla); and eight grandchildren; as well as her mother, Gay Christian; two sisters; and a brother. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Christian. Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Crossroads Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Debbie’s name to the Medallion Hospice Unit of Easter Seals of Great Falls.
