David Lawrence Parenteau, 82, of Great Falls, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. David was born on August 13, 1937, in Harlem, Montana to David and Ruby (Velmer) Parenteau. He graduated from Neihart High School before joining the Army. He was honorably discharged on July 31, 1967. After the Army, he was a truck driver with the grain industry. He owned and operated the Annex Bar and Froid Motel in Froid, Montana. He became a custodian of the Centerville schools until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW, as well as a board member for the Froid Water Board and the Little Shell Tribe. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting. He shared his knowledge of hunting and fishing with his nephews and was constantly teasing his nieces. He always loved holidays with the family or just having them drop by for a visit. He always looked forward to his family stopping by. David is survived by his brothers, Ben (Jeanne) of Great Falls, Joe (Bonnie) of Helena, and Gary “Froid” (Georgie) of Froid; sisters, Patricia Maki of Great Falls and Ruby Larson, of Port Charlotte, FL, and Alpha (Eugene) O’Brien of Boca Raton, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Darlene Maki; and brother, Sam.
