David Lee Davis

David Lee Davis, 76, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. David was born on May 8, 1941 in Polson, Montana. He went to school at Twin Bridges and the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind. He went to college in Coeur d’Alene and obtained an Associate’s Degree. He attended the Glynco Georgia Federal Law Enforcement Academy to become a federal law enforcement officer. He worked at the Columbus Hospital from 1959 until 1962 when he moved to Couer d’Alene to work in the police department there until 1976. In 1977, he went to work for the federal law enforcement office as a federal officer until 1997, at which time he retired. He moved back to Great Falls in 1998, and went to work at the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind until his retirement in 2005. He married Shirley Kathman on July 27, 1963 in Chinook, Montana. They have been married for 54 years. Together they have four children. David was a member of the Salvation Army and held positions on the board of directors. He was also a church elder for the First Presbyterian Church. He loved reading, playing pinochle, and camping, fishing, and boating with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Great Falls; daughter Carissa Dobbins of Great Falls; sons Bryce (Colleen) Davis of Casper, WY, David J. (Trish) Davis of Bakersfield, CA; and Kevin Dean Davis of Colorado Springs, CO; brother Almond Lynn Davis of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his adopted father, Darrel Robinson; mother Rose Corbit; sister Bonita Wheeler; and brother Floyd Davis. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, 1000 17th Ave S, Great Falls, MT59405.
