David. D. Brown, 69, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Great Falls on February 24, 1952, and was the second child to Bert and Ruth Brown. He was raised in Great Falls with his three siblings. David attended Charles M. Russell High School and following high school he joined the US Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After the military, David began a long career as a carpenter before becoming an engineer with BNSF Railroad until his retirement a few years ago. David was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, especially at Holter Lake. He also very much enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. He loved watching his granddaughter, Harley, play softball and was excited to finally have a grandson this year. When he wasn’t outdoors, David could be found watching old western movies and had quite the collection. His ultimate biggest love was his family, and he was much loved back by all of them. He is survived by his wife, Dee; daughter, Leesa (Craig) Gunter of Elko, NV; stepdaughter, Jen (Ryan) Bann of Missoula; and sons, Chad (Molly) and David (Janet) Brown, both of Great Falls; mother, Ruth Brown of Great Falls; siblings, Jim (Glenice) Brown, Dianne (Greg) Buckel of Great Falls, and Larry (Ronnie) Brown of Hayden, ID; four granddaughters; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert. There will be a celebration of life for David at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church in Great Falls with a reception immediately following.
