Darvin Johnson

Darvin G. Johnson, 80, of Monarch, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Benefis Hospital. He sustained severe head injuries, due to a fall at his home days prior.A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. A burial of ashes will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Darvin was born on June 1, 1933 in Bagley, Minnesota, where he also attended school. He later served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. In 1957, he moved to Montana and worked for the Anaconda Company until 1970.Darvin was known for his work at the Lazy Doe restaurant and bar in Monarch, which he owned and operated from 1970 until the time of his death. He was considered the heart of the Monarch community and will be sorely missed by all of his neighbors, friends, patrons and family.Darvin is survived by his sisters Violet Bakken of Hallock, MN, Janice (Duane) Otness of Great Falls, and Sharon (Gerald) Larson of Great Falls, along with numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Helen Johnson; sister, Dolores Clausen and brother Stanley Johnson.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monarch Volunteer Fire Department.Yeah, yeah, yeah.
