Darlene Marie Hill

Darlene Marie (Guy) Hill, 82, of Great Falls, and former resident of Reardan, WA, passed to be with the Lord and reunited with the love of her life, surrounded by family on August 30, 2021. She was born November 18,1938, to George and Katie Guy in Lincoln, Nebraska but was raised in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Dar was working at Albertson’s where a young, handsome, blonde hair, charmingly bright blue-eyed man, Bob, caught her eye. From that moment on is when their beautiful love story began. Dar and Bob married on March 23, 1958, in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Soon after, Bob accepted a position as a salesman for Montgomery Wards and was transferred to Great Falls, MT. For 6 months, every day he had off, he would make the trip back to Coeur d’ Alene to have lunch with his little lady and drive back right after to make it for work. Dar then transferred to Albertsons in Great Falls and shortly after gave birth to their first daughter, Cheryl, on July 19th, just one day shy of Bob’s birthday. Two years later, on October 28th, they welcomed their second daughter, LaRissa. These girls were their pride and joy and light of their lives. Dar worked at Albertson’s for a few years before she accepted a position as a grocery clerk for Buttrey Foods, later becoming part of their management team, where she retired after 23 years. She was an avid seamstress, meticulously beautiful artist, and teacher of all things ceramic (she loved her ceramic gals) despite the challenges of her arthritic hands for over 40 years. She could grow the most amazing vegetable garden and was a faithful supporter of Mule Days in Reardan, which she looked forward to for many years. Dar thoroughly enjoyed summer vacations, which she would plan for weeks to ensure everything was perfect, at the lake with family for over 20 years. Her most cherished roll was being “Grandma Horsey” to her 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dar was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hill; parents, George and Katie Guy; brothers, Donny and Ray Guy; sisters, Isabell Weiss and Lucy Bly; daughter, LaRissa Simonson; and grandson, Ryan Simonson-DePratu. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Rob) Hagestad of Great Falls; sister, Nancy Richards of Spokane, WA; “The Good Guys” of Post Falls, ID; grandchildren, Krista (Kevin) Kolve, Becky (Jason) Burns, Cody (Arionna) Hagestad, Kylee (Alex) Townsend, all of Great Falls; and Alysha (Jake) Carr, son-in-law, Scott (Paula) Simonson all of Deltona, FL; great-grandchildren, Kolten, Karson, and Kora Kolve, Sawyer Evans, and Livy Carr. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of #6 R2 Hagestad due late October.
