Daniel “Dan” Dolphay, 79, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at a local care center. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Schnider Funeral Home and at 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel all on Friday, November 17, 2017. Burial at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, Dodson, MT. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Dan was born January 23, 1938 in Dodson, Montana the son of Cora and Nick Dolphay. He was the youngest of 11 children. He attended Longview Country School and later graduated from Dodson High School. He entered the US Marine Corps in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1961. He returned to Dodson and later moved to Great Falls and worked for the ACM Co. He was working to add to his herd of cattle on the family farm and on returning from Dodson, he was in a car accident which left him disabled for the rest of his life. He is survived by his brother, Herman Dolphay of Dodson; sisters Edith Guza of Great Falls and Lenore (Lynden) Pomeroy of Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and five brothers.
