Dale Stu Stewart, 75, of Great Falls, passed away on Feb. 22, 2017 from respiratory arrest at Benefis Hospital with his family by his side.Stu was born on October 10, 1941 to Miller Bud and Marjorie (Holtz) Stewart. He attended Ursuline Academy and later graduated in 1959 from Great Falls Central Catholic High School. Stu was employed at the Great Falls Tribune until 1969. He was a driver for Howards Pizza, a custodian at Blessed Trinity Catholic School, and then worked for nine years for the Great Falls "public" School District before retiring.Stu liked helping people and volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. Whenever there was a bus pass for Neighbor In Need, Stu was right there to donate. Stu was a cancer survivor as well as his two brothers and was an organ donor. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.Stu loved cars and was a member of the Other Guys Car Club and for 27 years planned and organized Stus Cruz. His prize possession was his 1970 medium charcoal grey Chevelle Malibu. When or where there was a car show Stu was there. Stu especially enjoyed lunching with the Wednesday Lunch Bunch and having a few beers at the Hi Ho and the Wine Mill with friends. For many years Stu went out to the Brew Pub in Belt for lunch and to visit with his friends. He especially liked when his sister and her husband came to visit. Stus whole family would come and they would have a family get together. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and runner, competing in 17 Ice Breaker Runs.He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Gary (Bev) Stewart, Nancy Stewart Denning and Gene (Barb) Stewart all of Great Falls and Penny (Farrell) Lusher of New Castle, WA; several nieces and nephews; and by a very dear friend, Dolly Jewett Seifert who was like a daughter and sister to all of Stus family.He was preceded in death by his parents.A funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 201 44th St. S., Great Falls. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Stus love was his Malibu and it will be parked outside the church doors. Weather permitting, if you would like to bring a classic car and park in the designated area by the church to commemorate Stu nothing would have pleased him more!In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Great Falls Rescue Mission, or donors choice.
