Dale Dee Agnew of Great Falls, Montana passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2024.
He was born on October 16, 1947, in Tyler, Texas. Dale spent his youth in various Texas locations with his mother, Iva Lemley Agnew; father, Julius Dee Agnew; and siblings, Glenn (deceased) and Wilma Agnew.
Following high school graduation, Dale served in the United States Air Force at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. He missed the Texas sun and dreaded the cold that he never got used to. Dale attended College in Oklahoma and Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Advertising Art from North Central Texas University in Denton, Texas.
Dale was a talented graphic artist who worked for LTV Defense Contractors and various other Dallas entities before starting his own successful advertising agency, Agnew Associates, which he maintained until his retirement. In his later career years, Dale held the position of Western Regional Sales Manager for Construction Equipment Guide, a national heavy equipment publication. He was recognized multiple times as Salesperson of the Year for outstanding sales performance. In his retirement, Dale continued his love of drawing to include portraits of his family, images of scenic countryside, and most recently, wildlife. His eyes were failing, and his hands had difficulty doing the delicate details which frustrated him, but he never stopped drawing. He also loved photography, reading, and the Dallas Cowboys! The Agnew’s moved to Montana, his wife’s home state, in 2020. While Dale loved the beautiful scenic inspiration that Montana afforded him for drawings, as before in Alaska, he never got used to the cold – his least favorite thing! Dale remained a TRUE TEXAS SON in his heart.
Dale is survived by his wife of 13 years, Robin Holloway Pfeiffenberger Agnew, and beloved dogs, Jake and Bob; daughters, Alexa (Josh) Geiger of Bali, Indonesia and Meredith (Joe) Gerfers of Austin, Texas; stepchildren, Corri Pfeiffenberger of Houston, Texas, Katie Pfeiffenberger of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Parker (Amy) Pfeiffenberger of Great Falls Montana; sister, Wilma Agnew Jones of Mesquite, Texas; and various nieces and nephews. Additionally, Dale is survived by 12 grandchildren who fittingly called him GRANDSIR, Uriah Seebeck of Livingston, Texas, Kayaweh, Amaya, Sequoia, Elijah, and Yeshua Geiger of Bali, Indonesia, Emaline Gerfers of Austin Texas, Elle White of San Diego, California, Tilden White of Houston, Texas, and Andrew, Hadley, and Sawyer Pfeiffenberger of Great Falls, Montana.
