D. Norman Wilson, 97, of Great Falls a retired CPA for Douglas Wilson and Company, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at a local care facility of natural causes.Private graveside services will be Saturday, September 8, at Highland Cemetery with Military Honors.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.D. Norman Norm Wilson was born in Great Falls on June 19, 1915 to Douglas Norman Wilson, Sr. and Ethel (Lambi) Wilson. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1933. Norm served with the US Army Air Corps in England during World War II.Norm married his first wife, Stella, on November 1, 1940 and she passed away on February 11, 1974.He married Kathryn Helzer on September 19, 1974 and she passed away on April 27, 2009.He was active in many professional and community organizations, including a life member of the Montana Society of CPAs, serving as the president in 1964.He also belonged to the Board of Directors of the Great Falls Area Chamber, the Rotary Club of Great Falls, serving as president in 1965, a charter member of the United Fund of Cascade County, Cascade County Historical Society, and the Great Falls Shrine Club.He was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church. After retiring, Norm spent many summers at his cabin at the Big Sky Lake.He is survived by his son, Douglas Wilson (Shirley) of Great Falls and their children, Paige (Doug) Nicholson of Great Falls, Barbara (Ken) Jasper of St. Regis, and Holly (Wade) Bitz of Havre; a daughter Marilyn (Steven) Schmidt of Missoula and their daughter, Marissa; his sisters Helen Wilson of Great Falls, Margaret Person, of Kalispell and Muriel Buckley of Great Falls; and eight great-grandchildren, Spencer, Tyler, Julia and Stella Nicholson of Great Falls, Jacob and Carter Jasper of St. Regis, and Emma and Ava Bitz of Havre.Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, 1315 Central Ave., Great Falls, MT 59401 or to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th Str.
