Cydni "Cyd" Karaffa

Cydni Cyd Bryce Karaffa was born on January 6, 1953 in Great Falls to Denis and Phyllis (Filbrandt) Karaffa. She passed away at the age of exactly 63-1/2 on July 6, 2016 at Peace Hospice. Cyd attended schools in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1971. She received her Bachelors degree from Montana State University in Bozeman and worked many years as a legal assistant in Great Falls. She retired in 2013, at which time she fulfilled a longtime dream of moving back to the Bozeman area.Cyd was an incredibly strong and independent woman. She was kind, caring, and very spiritual. She knew her own mind and had the courage of her convictions. Cyd loved to read, garden, solve challenging puzzles, walk Lily, and spend time laughing and drinking a little wine with friends.She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.Cyd is survived by her mother, Phyllis; brother Scott (Terri); niece Sara Karaffa; nephew Tyler (Katie) Karaffa; one great-niece; and three great-nephews; and her fur baby, Lily. She also leaves behind devoted and loving friends whom she thought of as her adopted sisters who with her until the very end, Becky, Bruci Ann, Clari, Ginny, Karen, Linda, Mary Kay, Nancy, and Sharon.At her request, no service is planned. However, her sisters traveled to Craig to share memories of Cyd, drink wine, and toss rose petals into the Missouri River.
