Corrine Elizabeth Murnion Nevala was born into eternity on May 24, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Corrine was surrounded by prayer and her loving family at the time. On March 27, 1938, Corrine was born at home, near Mosby, MT, to Patrick and Rose Ellen Cunningham Murnion. Corrine’s youth was spent on the family’s sheep ranch west of Jordan. She attended grade school at a local country school and finished her primary education in Jordan. After graduating from Garfield County High School in 1956 she moved to Great Falls, MT where she attended the Great Falls Business College. Corrine met her partner in life, Ray Nevala, on a blind date in the fall of 1957.Their date was to a rodeo in Lewistown, MT, a past time that would be central in their family’s future.They were married on September 24th, 1960 and lived in the Little Belt Mountains until 1964 they moved to a ranch near Raynesford, MT.Their first daughter, Raelene was born in 1962 with Karmon arriving in December of 1963.They continued to be blessed with Rhonda joining their family in January of 1965 and Darcy in May of 1969.After moving to Geyser in 1978, Corrine began working for the USDA in Stanford, MT as a Program Assistant until December of 2006, retiring after 25 plus years.Retirement brought her back to Belt, MT in November of 2010. Corrine is survived by her daughters Raelene Konzak, Geyser, MT; Karmon (Shawn) Steinbach, Fort Shaw, MT; Rhonda Nevala, Great Falls, MT; Darcy (Ryan) Mapston, Belt, MT; her beloved grandchildren Jimi Rae Croff, Sydne and Allie Steinbach, Ryley and Raenee Mapston, and let us not forget her faithful canine companion Bella. Corrine is survived by her twin sister, Maureen (Vince) Marko, Great Falls, MT; sisters Margie (Bob) Jorgenson, Roundup, MT; Patricia Murnion, Great Falls, MT; brother Jim J (Betty Jean) Murnion, Canton, TX;sister in-law, Mary Alice Murnion, Jordan, MT;brother in-laws Ed (Barbara) Nevala, Belt , MT; Ken (Debbie) Nevala, Belt, MT; 12 nieces and 8 nephews and their families . Corrine was preceded to eternal life by her spouse of 48 years, Raymond Nevala; her parents Patrick and Rose Ellen Murnion; sisters: Mary Alice Currey and Annie Habel; brother John D Murnion; brother in-laws: Jack Curry and Roger Habel; nephew Brently Murnion. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by the vigil service at 7:00 p.m. both at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Belt. The funeral liturgy will be Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Mark’s in Belt with burial to follow at Big Willow Cemetery in Belt.
