Cornelia Belle Connie Hall, 81, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died of natural causes on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Peace Hospice. Her memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 6 p.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Connie was born May 3, 1930, to Cloyd Audley and Anna May (Mitchell) Grove in Washington, Pennsylvania and raised and educated in Pittsburgh, PA. She eventually followed her mother and brother to Montana, where her brother was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Here she met an airman, Duane Hall, who was also stationed at Malmstrom, and on February 25, 1967, they were married in Great Falls. She and Duane were members of the VFW Club and Connie was also a member of the Great Falls Deaf Association. Connie had a talent for painting and enjoyed it as a hobby. Perhaps because she was deaf, Connie had a special connection to animals, in part because they didnt have to try and understand her. They had a natural tendency to gravitate towards her and though she loved all animals, she was especially fond of her pet bird. She also enjoyed being with people, and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She is at peace now, and is finally home. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Eklund of Great Falls; sisters Mary Jane McGlumphy, Dena and Jerry Stewart and Bucky and Joe Derkiss, all of Pennsylvania; a brother, Corky (Karen) Grove of Great Falls; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Hall, on January 27, 2011. Memorials are suggested to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405.
