Corey Kenneth Rydquist, 30, of Great Falls, passed away at home Saturday, Sept 13, 2014 after a 5 year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma.Corey was born at Benefis Hospital March 19, 1984 to Gregg and Vicky Rydquist. He met the love of his life, Ginger May, their first year at Great Falls High School. He was a true-blooded Montanan-loving to explore the outdoors through camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting. He worked in carpentry and construction after high school until the day before his 25th birthday when he discovered he had cancer.His battle began abruptly but Corey faced it head on. He was tough, never letting treatment or illness get in his way. He attended his daughter Sarahs, sporting and school events, and cared for his son, Cooper, at home whenever he felt strong enough.Corey was always finding things to fix and enjoyed making broken things work again. He was a natural, and good at sports. He had a passion for baseball, skateboarding, snowboarding, horseshoes, playing poker, and golfing with his Grandpa Ken. Being a nature-lover, Corey had a soft spot for all living things, plants and animals alike.Corey is survived by his wife, Ginger; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth; son, Cooper Kenneth; parents, Gregg and Vicky; brother, Ryan all of Great Falls; grandparents Dororthy Pitcock, of Great Falls and Penny and Bob Graham of Twin Bridges; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Please join us at the Eagles Lodge, 1509 9th Street S, Great Falls, on Wednesday, Sept 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. for a Celebration of Life potluck. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. His ashes will be interred at a later date.In honor of Corey, donations may be sent to the World Wildlife Federation Fund, PO Box 97180, Washington D.C. 20090 or online at worldwildlife.org.
