Connie Marie Flechsenhar, 65, of Great Falls, passed away October 12, 2012 at a local hospital due to complications from multiple sclerosis.Visitation will be at Schnider Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to her funeral service at the United Methodist Church, 33rd St N, Cascade, MT on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cascade. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Connie Marie Flechsenhar was born on February 4, 1947 to Dwight and Marian Flechsenhar in Great Falls, MT. She attended Cascade "public" Schools and then graduated with a degree in Physical Education from Western Montana College in Dillon, MT. Connie was a cheerleader during four years in high school and in college. She supported the Cascade Badgers and the Western Montana College sports programs. She played in the high school band and won a state award for her baritone solo. She was a member of the Cascade-Ulm Daughters of the Nile and a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church. Connie was employed as a civilian at Malmstrom AFB Hospital and then was transferred to the Malmstrom Civil Engineering Department. She medically retired in November, 2001. She still has many close friends at Malmstrom AFB. She was an avid sports fan and she specifically loved the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and the Montana Grizzlies. She was a collector of music boxes, beautiful clocks, patriotic memorabilia, and Christmas decorations. Connie was stricken with multiple sclerosis in 1969 during her college career. She was very independent which helped her to survive and thrive. Connie never lost her passion for life or her sense of humor. She had a quick wit and made people laugh; she always had a good joke or a story to lighten everyones day.She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Murry Moore; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jeannie Flechsenhar, all from Cascade;seven nieces and nephews; and 16 great nieces and nephews. She has several great friends whom she loved as family and who helped her through the day during these past few years; Charlene, Millie, Debbie, Joe, Mary Kay, Lanette, Cathy and Sue along with numerous other very close friends. She is also survived by her companion, her puppy Rusty. She will be missed by all who knew her.
