Clorene Michel, 78, of Great Falls, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at a local hospital.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park at a later date. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Clorene was born on March 4, 1935 in Seattle, Washington to Robert and Nellie Calvert. She was raised on a farm and educated in Enumclaw, Washington. Clorene married Arlo D. Michel at the Hitching Post in Couer DAlene, Idaho. In 1963, they moved from Washington when Arlos career took them to several cities in the country, until he was transferred to Great Falls in 1971. Over the years, she worked as a passenger elevator operator, school bus driver for 20 years, and was a mother and caregiver. Clorene was also a proud member of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe.She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and traveling with her sister, Sharon. Clorene loved spending time at the holidays surrounded by family, and loved taking numerous photos of those events.Clorene is survived by her husband, Arlo D. Michel of Great Falls; sons Brent Walter (Kelly) Michel of Great Falls and Bradley Robert (Rachael) Michel of Kennewick, WA; brothers Kenneth (Nancy) Calvert and Gary (Carole) Calvert both of Auburn, WA; grandchildren Katie Reilly, and Eric, Kristina, and Anthony Michel; and great-granddaughter, Natalie Michel.She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Patsy Wilson and Sharon Brassard; and brothers Richard, Larry, and Gordon Calvert.Memorials in Clorenes name may be made to the Benefis Foundation Angel Fund, PO Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406-7008.
