Clarence “Butch” Luraas, 81, gently walked into the loving arms of his wife, Bonnie Marquis on December 13, 2017. A private graveside service will be held. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Butch requested that there be no fanfare, no funeral and no tears. In his later years, Butch was a quiet, gentle man who had lived a full life. As a young man he was quite the rabble rouser, he lived to hunt, fish and gamble. At 16, he started to work at the docks of Great Northern Railway and he married Marilyn Maurath. They had two children, Timothy and Tammy Jo. They later divorced. He married Bonnie Marquis in November of 1973. He was in the Air National Guard as a cook and became a truck driver and joined the Teamster Union. Butch was preceded in death by his sister, Winifred; wife Bonnie, whom he adored; parents Clarence and Minnie; and brothers Sherman and Del. He is survived by brothers Darrel (Bobbi) of Beaverton, OR and Monte (Vera) of Great Falls, MT; and a multitude of nephews and nieces. Special thanks to the staff at the Meadowlark Assisted Living for their kindness and loving care, and to Peace Hospice, who made his final days comfortable. Godspeed Butch. “Be happy for me; I am where I want to be.”
