Christine Ann (Beirman) Skovron, 57, of Great Falls, died of pancreatic cancer Thursday, April 5, at her home. A memorial service is 4 p.m. Friday at the Heritage Inn. Cremation took place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Christine was born Jan. 12, 1955, and was raised in Havre. She graduated from Havre High School in 1973. In 1974, she married Gary Mac McCrea; they divorced in 1981. On Sept. 6, 1986, she married Tom Skovron. Chris started working at what was then First Bank, and contin-ued to work there until Jordan was born in February 1988. While raising Jordan and Jake (who was born in June 1990) until the time of her death, she worked tirelessly as the VP and comptroller for Tom Skovron Builders, and as the boss of Tom Skovron. Aside from taking care of Skov, Jordan and Jake, which was her biggest passion, Chris lived a life full of love and fun. She cher-ished the summers she spent as a child at the Phillips Family Farm in Rudyard. She loved and stayed close with her cousins and her high school friends throughout the years. Chris had many hobbies and was a very accom-plished skier in her younger years. Chris took up golf when she met Skov. This past summer, when Skov was in a golf slump, it was rumored that Chris was on the cusp of being able to beat Skov in a round of golf. Chris cherished her many friendships, and was blessed to have a true team of angels rallying around her as she battled cancer. With Tom, and with family and friends, she had many adventures: holiday baking, birthday club, couples golf, float trips, cruises, hunting in Africa, cooking for Skov, bowling, loving on her dogs, and she was one of the few people who truly enjoyed doing laundry. Chris loved filling her home with family and friends. She was a second mom to many of Jake and Jordan's friends, and was so understanding and willing to feed anyone at any time. Having a difficult time saying no and always quick to volunteer, Chris kept busy with the PTA at Meadowlark Elementary School. Long after Jake and Jordan were out of elementary school, Chris continued to visit Mrs. Johnson's first-grade class as the bubble gum lady. Chris really enjoyed her time reading to the kids at Longfellow and, along with her friend, Deb Murphy, spent countless hours helping with CMR's Project Graduation. Those closer to Chris will re-member that certain tilt of her head and raise of an eyebrow on that rare occasion you may have annoyed her. Skov claims he rarely got the look, but actually she sent it to him often behind his back. Chris and Tom were a true team. They were true soul mates who would often tell each other, I love you more than breath. Although Chris was an only child, she inherited a large family when she married Skov. Chris was such an important part of the Skovron family, very much a true sister, daughter and beloved aunt.Through Chris's illness, she would continue to show her true colors as a caregiver, always concerned about how everyone else was doing despite how difficult her day may have been. Chris taught many people how to love completely. What an example of how to be a devoted wife, loving mother and caring friend.Chris is survived by her true love, Tom Skovron; daughter Jordan Skovron; son Jacob Skov-ron; beloved dogs Marley and Bella; dad George Bowery; step-brother Mike Bowery; mother-in-law Susan Skovron; brother-in-law Jim (Uschi) Skovron; sister-in-law Patty Skovron; sister-in-law Peggy (Dave) Bennetts; brother-in-law Billy Skovron; sister-in-law Karen (Tom) Harant; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Bowery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Great Falls Animal Shelter, Peace Hospice or Sletten Cancer In-stitute.
