Charley Joe Martin, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Benefis Healthcare from cardiac arrest.A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1315 Central Avenue.Charley Joe was born October 3, 1945 in Blaine County, Oklahoma, but spent most of his life in the state of Montana, living in Poplar, Missoula, Kalispell, and Great Falls. He attended college at University of Montana majoring in Technical Theatre. As part of his education, he completed a work study program with the Montana Repertory Theatre and traveled across the western United States building sets for their productions. He was a skilled craftsman and worked as a master carpenter for over 40 years.Charley Joe enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, or camping.He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Martin; sons Jedediah Martin and Joshua Martin, all of Great Falls; brother George N (Betty) Martin of Missouri; sister Winona (Robert) Wynia of Helena; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, George Henry and Lola D Martin and sister Henrietta Traugh.
