Charles Duane Chuck Chappell, 83, of Great Falls, Montana passed away March 4th, 2014, from a long battle with cancer at Benefis Hospital.The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 12:00 noon at West Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 926 Smelter Ave, NW, Great Falls, MT.Chuck was born on July 13, 1930 in Aberdeen, SD to Rufus and Eva Chappell. He was raised on the family farm and completed his schooling in Spooner, WI. He attended the University of Wisconsin before entering a voluntary missionary service as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. While at a convention at Yankee Stadium in 1950, he met Reva Hobbs. They married in 1951 and attended the Bible School of Gilead in upstate New York. They received various missionary assignments in Wisconsin, Idaho, Delaware, and Sierra Leone, West Africa. Sierra Leone became their home for 21 years. Upon returning to the States, they settled in Great Falls, Montana. Chuck was employed by Hydrotex Oil, and became state manager, and had worked there for the last 36 years.They traveled extensively with Hydrotex Oil and as missionaries to 62 countries. He remained active in his Bible teaching work up until the day before entering the hospital.Chuck is survived by his wife, Reva of 62 years; brothers Donald (Colleen) of Tucson, Joseph (JoAnne) of Buffalo, WY, and Nathan (Angie) of Taos, NM; sister Eunice (Bill) Mortensen of Casa Grande, AZ; and nephew Justin of Gillette, WY.He was preceded in death by his parents.Condolences may be posted online at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
