Catherine Fern Agrimson, 86, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died on Monday, August 27, 2012 of natural causes at a local nursing facility.A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time.Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery.Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Catherine Fern (Moore) Agrimson was born on January 23, 1926 in Russell, Iowa to Charles and Cora Moore.The family moved to Montana in 1936, after the untimely death of Mrs. Moore.Money was tight, so one by one the children were moved out.Catherine had many stories of those years during the depression.She grew up in the Roundup and Fairfield area.She attended schools there while her father raised horses.When she became an adult, Catherine moved to Great Falls and was preparing to leave for California, when she met and married Arnold E. Agrimson in 1947.Together they had six children.She devoted herself to her family and serving the church, the Assembly of God.Catherine taught Sunday school for many years.She loved the outdoors and gardening.She also worked many years at the old Columbus Hospital in housekeeping.Catherine looked at life as an adventure and looked at things in a positive light.The Agrimsons enjoyed camping, fishing and card playing.After Arnolds death in April of 1982, Catherine continued to travel.She loved visiting her children and many grandchildren.She surprised us all by getting her drivers license at the age of 57!Catherine was an avid fund-raiser for the American Heart Foundation, only to pass from congestive heart failure herself.We will always remember her stories, poems and her bird whistle.Catherine Fern Agrimson is survived by her daughters, Myrna Brande of Peoria, AZ, Rita Heldt and Judy Brandon both of Great Falls and Cindy (Chris) Murdock of Brainard, MN; sons Dwight Agrimson and Jay (Shelly) Agrimson both of Great Falls; sisters Leona (Bill) Miller of Estacada, OR and Charlene Sawyer of Gothburg, NB; brothers David Moore and Allan Moore both of Furnam, NB and Leonard Moore of North Platte, NB; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Agrimson and her grandson David Murdock.Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, Western State Affiliate, PO Box 742030, Los Angeles, CA90074-2030.Condolences for the family may be posted at www.schniderfuneralhome.com.
