Caroyl Dance LaCroix of Ulm passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the age of 91. Per her request, no services are being held. Schnider Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Caroyl was born on October 23, 1926 in Havre, Montana. She worked as a telephone operator for Ma Bell before meeting and marrying Frank LaCroix on March 14, 1947. They were married for 51 years until Frank’s passing in 1998. Caroyl worked various jobs while raising her children, jobs that included United Truck Lines and Boeing. She is survived by her two children, Larry LaCroix and Luana (Greg) Giskaas; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Giskaas, Larry James Zbinden, and Dusty LaCroix. Caroyl was preceded in death by just about everyone. She enjoyed gambling trips, crossword puzzles, bingo, going to the movies, flowers, her yard, and her friends and neighbors who looked in on her during the year. Caroyl was a very strong, fiercely independent woman who remained totally independent in her own home up until her death. Tough as nails, but soft and sweet, we’re not sure how she balanced the two, but she did a great job of it. Rest in peace, mom.
