Carol Smith

Carol Smith, 87, of Great Falls passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from renal failure at Benefis Health Care.A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Carol was born January 16, 1927 in Ambrose, North Dakota to George and Mary (Knox) Leininger. In her early years she was a nursing assistant and later worked with her husband at their Pioneer Mutual Insurance Office. She left work in 1979 following a stroke.Carol is survived by her sons, Russ (Jane) Smith and Steve ( Patty) Smith; daughters June (Jake) Kuitert and Jamie (Rick) Rust; brother Kenneth Leininger; sister Juanita Hensley; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 9 great great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband James Jim L. Smith; parents George and Nellie Leininger; stepfather Amos Fruend; sister Bernice Simkins; and brother Duwayne Leininger.
