Carol Sayre

Carol Marie (Stengele) Sayre, 86, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at a local nursing home.Carol was born on November 25, 1930 to Elmer and Lorene (Hauser) Stengele in Joliet, Illinois. She graduated from St. Frances Academy in Joliet in 1948 and attended nurses training for a short time. Carol married Charles Sayre in 1950. As an Air Force wife, she spent the first years of their marriage traveling around the country. They eventually settled in Great Falls in 1961. She was a full-time homemaker and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles in 2001; infant son, David in 1954; grandson Joseph Dodge (Annes son) in 2014; and infant great-grandson, Mason Dodge (Nicoles son) in 1998.As an only child, she vowed to have a large family. Carol is survived by her children, Brian, Anne Dodge, Daniel (Nancy), Patrick, and Michael (Kim); grandchildren, Annes daughter Nicole Dodge, Dan and Nancys children Nathan and Amy (Noah) Scott, and Mike and Kims children Eric and Mariah; three great-grandchildren, Nicoles son Tanner Dodge, and Amy and Noahs children Kaylee and Kyle Scott.Cremation has taken place and inurnment is at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
