Carl E. Rountree, 81, of Great Falls, a retired food salesman, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 of natural causes at a local care facility.A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Carl grew up in southwestern Missouri and at age 20 he took a job on a BLM survey crew that headquartered in Billings, MT. Following his Army service in Korea, he and his wife, Beverly, moved to Montana in 1954 where they lived most of their 60 years of married life and raised their family of three sons.Carl had a very outgoing personality, loved people and enjoyed his career as a food salesman. He worked for a variety of employers including Pepsi Cola Bottling of Billings, Kraft Foods, Richardson and Holland Corp and in later years for regional wholesale food brokers. He also owned and operated a Jack & Jill Market in Torrington, WY for a few years. Carl was a very hard worker and traveled many miles as a salesman, yet always made time to spend enjoying his family.Carls lifetime recreational passion was fishing and he also enjoyed family camping and vacations. He loved their family cabin on Flathead Lake where he and Beverly spent many memorable summers with family, grandchildren and friends. Carls Lund fishing boat was his pride and joy. He spent many hours fishing and boating on the lake with his grandkids on floats or skis. He also appreciated the beauty and wildlife of the Flathead area.Carl is survived by his wife, Beverly; brother, James (Wanda) of Littleton, CO; sons Jeffrey (Mindy) of Ham Lake, MN, and Donald (Carole) of Great Falls; grandchildren Kristine and Natalie of Ham Lake, MN; Meghan (Seth) Namestnik of Fairview Park, OH; Tyler, Ben and Brandon of Great Falls.He was preceded in death by his parents and son Gregory.
