Carl Earnest Hansen, 86, of Great Falls, passed away in the early morning hours of May 4, 2016.Visitation will be Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Carl was born in Savage, Montana on March 27, 1930 to Earnest and Angie (Thompson) Hansen. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951, and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He went to college at Montana State University in Missoula, graduating in 1956. He worked as a credit manager for F.A. Buttery from 1960 to 1975. He then went to work for Baltrusch Trucking and Bruce Walter Trucking from 1976 to 1999, before retiring.He was a member of the Eagles Club, Elks Club, and Moose Club. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, meticulous lawn care, Friday night dinner with good friends, dancing, family dinners, and was always available for family and friends whenever he was needed.Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pearl; sons Tom (Nancy) Hansen and Mark (Kelly) Hansen; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Angie and Earnest Hansen; brothers Clifford and Gairold Hansen; and stepfather Stiley VanHooser.Memorials may be made to Peace Place at the First Presbyterian Church, 1315 Central Ave, Great Falls, MT 59401.
