On December 24, 2019, the Lord requested for another angel to sing in the Christmas choir. Brian succumbed to a life long battle with diabetes. A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on December 31, 2019, 2:00pm. A reception will follow at Schnider Funeral Home. Brian Ruckman was born on February 7, 1958, in Great Falls to Richard and Joan Ruckman.He attended schools at Collins School in Black Eagle, North Jr. High and graduated from CMR High School and Jamestown College ND. Brian married Roxanne Klose and later divorced. Brian achieved Eagle Scout Honors, Troop 8, Black Eagle Moose Lodge’s first. He enjoyed Little League Baseball, Cross Town High School Hockey, and played football for CMR. Later became an avid alumni fan, attending most all home games. He became a MOA referee and enjoyed his time on the field. Brian coached youth and adult baseball, softball, football and hockey teams, and participating in recreation softball. Music was a major part of Brian’s life. He was an All-State High School Tenor 3 years, 2 tours of Europe singing with the Montana Youth Choir and Jamestown College choir. Brian participated in many high school and college drama musicals. He was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon, elder and choir member. Being part of the local community was important to him, belonging to the Sunrise Lions Club, Moose Lodge, National Eagle Scout Association, Gore Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., MT Official Association. He also served as a volunteer to the Cascade County Planning and Zoning Board. Brian was a lifetime member of the Black Eagle Community, serving the Civic Club, and riding with the Little Rockies bike gang. Brian held many administrative clerk positions for philanthropic organizations such as, Loyal Order of the Moose, Habitat for Humanity, Montana Diabetes Association, Cascade County Aging Services/Meals on Wheels. Brian is preceded in death by his dad, Richard (Dick) Ruckman. He leaves behind his mom, Joan Ruckman of Great Falls, siblings Marilyn Ruckman of Billings MT, Ellarae (Todd) Anderson of Billings MT, Dr. Robert Ruckman of Pincher Creek Alberta, Bruce (Janae) Ruckman of Fairfield MT, and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at a later date in the columbarium niche #12, First Presbyterian Church, Great Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McLaughlin Research Institute for a diabetes project (1520 23rd St S, Great Falls, MT 59405) or First Presbyterian Church Great Falls with designation to the youth music program endowment fund (1315 Central Avenue, Gt Falls MT 59401).
