Bonnie J. Schroeder

Bonnie Jean (Zillgitt) Schroeder, 90, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017. Bonnie was born March 22, 1927 in Fairmount, North Dakota to Cecil and Francis (Tweeter) Zillgitt. She married Orville Schroeder on June 2, 1948 and the two came to Havre, MT to make their home. They divorced in January 1961. Mom did a wonderful job of raising her two children alone. Her working years were in bartending and waitressing. Bonnie remained in Havre until she moved to Great Falls in 2006 to be near her daughter. She enjoyed playing bingo, garage sales, crafts and refurbishing old furniture. Smiles, laughter and fun were her way through life until her passing at the Bee Hive Homes. She had been a resident there since 2012. She lived with her daughter from 2010 to 2012 when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Charlotta Diaz of Great Falls; son Kurtis Schroeder of Helena; grandchildren Chana, Jeff, Mandy and Krissy; great-grandchildren Kagen, Brandon, Brooklyn, Kea, Kiana, Cole, Connor, Ethan and Hayden; and sister Carmen Zillgitt of Burnsville, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Joan Pauling; and brother Rodney Zillgitt. No services are planned per her request. A family memorial will be held next summer. Cremation has taken place through Schnider Funeral Home. We treasure our memories and laughter with you Bon Bon. You were a wonderful role model and leader. Till we meet again, a job well done Mom!
