Beverly Jo Ramsted

May 3, 1933 — September 7, 2021

Beverly Joy Ramsted (nee Kummer), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully of natural causes on September 7 in Great Falls, MT. She was 88. Bev was born May 3, 1933, in Great Falls, Montana. Although her formative years during the Great Depression included great hardship, Bev developed a sense of resilience and resourcefulness that she maintained throughout her life. As a young woman, Bev cultivated a community of friends, family, and colleagues with whom she always remained close. It was her dear friend and future sister-in-law, Shirley who introduced Bev to her husband, Ed, and they were married just months later in October of 1951. Throughout Bev’s married life, she and Ed shared many adventures with their children. When not working for a local bank, she enjoyed playing card games, baking, and visiting their family cabin. She loved hosting holidays and spoiling her family—especially the grandkids. In the mountains, she would ride motorcycles with the family and would prepare fried donuts as a special treat for the kids. In their retirement, Bev and Ed moved to Lincoln, MT to enjoy a quiet life in the mountains. They relished these years caretaking their property, entertaining friends, and gathering with family. The two created a secluded retreat that became both a refuge and playground for their loved ones. Bev took up art, stamping, and card-making—hobbies she shared and passed on to her grandchildren. Even in her final years, Bev maintained these important traditions and continued to be a generous and loving presence in her family’s lives. Bev is survived by her four children, Claree Kelly and her husband, Gary Kelly, Cindy Venetz, Charlie Kimmet, and Tim Ramsted; as well as eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, best friend Rainy, and her cat, Gomez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Clarice; two brothers, Mel and Roger; husband Ed; sons-in-law, Robert Venetz and Bart Kimmet; daughter-in-law, Denise Ramsted; and two grandchildren, Jillian and Julian. A celebration of life will be held on September 25, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 4136 4th Ave S in Great Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Great Falls Humane Society or the ASPCA.
