Betty Lucille Ridgeley

Betty Lucille (Magers) Ridgeley, 90, of Great Falls, passed away on February 8, 2020. A celebration of life will be held on March 14, 2020, at Johnny’s Bar from 1:00-3:00 p.m. (1400 10th Ave N). Betty was born in Silver City, Iowa to William and Lena Magers on October 11, 1929. She grew up with a large family of 5 sisters and 4 brothers. She worked as a retail clerk, which she enjoyed throughout the years. In the year of 1949, Betty married Edward Ridgeley. They spent 49 wonderful years together before Edward passed away in 1998. Throughout her life, Betty loved, knitting, watching bull riding, canning, crocheting, and gardening. She also had a passion for cooking, and anyone who had ever had a meal made by Betty would say that she was an excellent cook. She began to lose her sight and was no longer able to partake in some of her beloved hobbies. She started spending a lot of time on her front porch in the shade, watching the traffic drive by. But her favorite hobby of all was talking with her family and hearing about all the new things happening in her loved ones lives. Betty loved every person in her life and was so grateful for all of them. Anyone who knew her, loved her just as much. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; her son, David Ridgeley; and her parents. Betty is survived by her son, Danny (Marlys) Ridgeley; daughters, Jackie (Brett) Tracy, Debbie (Dave) Blasingame, and Brenda (Rene) Peck; brother, Floyd Magers; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to Meals on Wheels in honor of Betty.
